Synergy, not perfection. A manager doesn't need to be excellent in any one pillar. They need to be on target — at least 80% — across all three. That's where the pillars start to amplify each other. Strong on only one produces predictable failure: Requiring without Relating creates compliance without ownership. Relating without Requiring creates comfort without accountability. Without Sage Mind, the other two collapse under pressure.

How this diagnostic works

  1. Add the managers you want to assess. Each one gets their own 12-question diagnostic.
  2. Rate what you've observed about them. A mix of how they show up directly, how their team behaves, and how they interact with their team. If you genuinely haven't seen something, mark it as "haven't observed" — those questions are skipped, not guessed.
  3. See where their leadership is landing. A score across Sage Mind, Relating, and Requiring. The biggest gaps surface first.
  4. Get targeted guidance. For each gap, you'll see what the manager should work on next — coaching prompts you can use with them this week.

This isn't a 360. It's a clear read on a specific manager from someone close enough to coach them — an HR leader or a senior leader. The signals are already there. Most people just don't have a frame for reading them.
